swings & roundabouts

headaches are weird huh…

i always think;

  • have i had too much coffee?
  • have i had too little coffee?
  • how much water have i had to drink recently?
  • too much computering?
  • maybe i should get my eyes checked?

speaking of, my favorite coffee shop at the moment is a place on little collins st called “cafe 53″, the owner knows me by name now, and on seeing me makes “the usual”, i’m not sure i’ve ever had that sort of treatment before…

next post: another weekend, another wedding…

  2. This resonates with me, before I lived at the sunshine coast, there were a number of places that this used to happen for me.

    I used to go to a noodle place in holland park and when we walked in, the guy cooking would start on our meals before we’d gotten to the counter to order and pay. Mind you, we’d been going there for six or so years and been through an owner change in that time.

    There are a couple of other places, a thai place in kenmore, another thai place in maroochydore and a steak place in woolloongabba etc. I guess I find something I like and stick to it.

  3. Ah yes, u know u’ve been going to a place too long when this happens to you:

    One night we decided to get takeout from our usual Indonesian place down the road but to spice things up opted to change our order. When my partner went to place the order he was promptly told that he was making a mistake and that wasn’t what I normally order! After an interesting animated conversation the owner finally gave in and “let” him place his order :-))))

    But my favourite is the thai place I go to, I get free prawn crackers (mmmm prawn crackers - homer j style) and a drink while I wait. Then when I get home I have nice little ’surprises’ from the chef. We got to a point where I kept ordering a dish that wasn’t on the menu so he decided to add it just for me…. don’t u just love takeout food???
